Oscar Wilde once said "Life imitates art far more than art imitates life." As a Creative, I have tried to fully embrace this philosophy by becoming a master of my surroundings on set, and humbling myself enough to try to stylize and capture these observations in images and video. As I have aged, I've learned to valuate my experiences with regard to the weight they exude on my work. For the past dozen years, I have been teaching in the City University of New York school system, working part-time as a freelance Fashion Content Creator. My biographical profile is rooted in 1960's deep South--where my parents are from --and nourished by the NYC hood that helped to raise me. My resume is stuffed with academic accolades from a fancy New England Prep School and a "Small Ivy" college, a Master of Fine Arts Degree and several domestic/international publications. All of these experiences have shaped the way I interact with my art, and with those whom I serve. I work for the people.
Unapologetically pro-black and pro-small business, I have tried to utilize my skills and resources to help fashion brands owned by designers of color to produce high-quality media. I founded Metropolitan Couture Media Group (MCMG) in 2016 in order to consolidate this effort, as well as to offer additional Public Relations services at low to no cost. During our brief run, we have produced close to 50 published editorials and fashion events in multiple US cities while also raising awareness and funds for several Black/Latinx-owned charities in NYC and Miami.
